So the thursday before Thanksgiving we had a bunch of our friends and family over to have a practice thanksgiving dinner. It was so delicious!
When we went to Minnesota for thankgiving Dan and I went to go see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolored Dreamcoat at a local dinner theater. It was a really good performance, and the dinner was delicous also. Anyway, we had to leave Jade behind so here is a picture with her and her first babysitters. Dan's cousin Nate and his sweet girlfriend Trish.

Ok, so it's a little late but Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Dan and Jade and I got to go to St. Paul, Minnesota to visit his aunt and uncle for Thanksgiving. We had such a fun time. Jade had her first babysitter while dan and I went to see Joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat at a local dinner theater. Jade did so well on the flight there and back. We also had baby Jade blessed today, it was such a great day! We had family over afterward and had some delicious grub.

Baby Jade has been growing so fast, last week she was 8 lbs or so, and today we weighed her and it looked like she was 10 lbs!!! how did she do that?? She's still pretty laid back, and you have to antagonize her a lot to get a response, but sometimes you can catch her staring and smiling at you when you're turned away. She's starting to make her needs known a little more now, and isn't afraid to squeel at you if you take her bottle away too early.

I just finished my travel contract with IHC, and have signed on with a local agency for PRN (pro re nata (Latin: for the thing born (As needed))) and am looking forward to dictating my own schedule. I got an awesome rate that will result in me making a little more per month than with my travel contract if I keep busy.

Other than cutie pie jade and getting a nice week off (make up for almost having to work through jade's delivery) things are pretty tame!

long awaited update

wow! i can't believe it's almost been a month since i posted anything. ok, so we went to vegas. of course we didn't take any pictures (i guess we're lazy). but we had such an awesome time with dave and jen and gavin. we also went to the byu vs. unlv football game. that was really fun, it was my and baby jade's first football game. well, here are a few more random pictures.

Baby Jade seems to be getting bigger, she even has a double chin now. We're just having another lazy night at home watching Blades of Glory. We've had some fun times with out little girl, we went and got j-dawgs the other day (a yummy hot dog place on byu campus). Nothing else really to report, babies are kind of boring. So i'll just add some pics now.

YAY!! no work today, tomorrow, or the next day!! Hooray!! And what do Jade and Daddy do on his day off?? Take pictures of course!!! I'm a little rusty behind the lens, but I think I pulled off some good shots. Photoshop skills don't hurt either.

No more for now though!!! The rest are going into her birth announcement.

Yay!! No more waiting. Things are going well, Jade and I just got back from the hospital. Her bilirubin count is going down so she got to come home with me. She's a totally chill baby, she hardly ever fusses. Here's a few more pics.

Baby Jade is officially 2!!!!

Two days of course!!!

She's been doing really good!! She's eating a lot more, and even smiling! She's making some good effort at breast feeding, even though mom's milk hasn't come in yet, and she is such good snuggler.

Today we let her lay naked in her basinet for a little while during changing since she's really lethargic all wrapped up, and she was rolling from side to side and sucking on her little hands. She even scooted herself all the way to the bottom of the basinet with her frog legs!

Her bili count is up a little (75%-ile) which means she's not excreting as much bili as she's producing which is common after birth, and they're just going to draw a follow up lab to see if she needs treatment (either extra hydration or photo-therapy). But we're excited at the prospect of taking her home tomorrow.

Baby Jade is here!

Baby Jade was born last night at 10:20 after 8 hours of failed induction via C-section. Turns out mom has a really small pelvis!! She had us all worried during delivery as she had a nucal cord x2 and was really dusky and floppy. After 2 minutes her APGAR score was still a 2, and grandma even jumped in and did chest compressions!!! With grandma's loving touch, and some more vigorous stimulation, baby Jade started to cry and move around, and her color improved.

She looked like a total troll after being rammed into Mom's pelvic floor for 8 hours, and had some serious conehead going on. She's totaly cute this morning though!!! All I have for now are the delivery pictures, but I'll put up some better shots in the next days.

well, our little girl should be here soon. (you hear that baby? take a hint) anyway, so life in general is great. dan and i are just enjoying being around to hang out with our friends and have midnight donut runs (i hope we're still on for tonight fromms).
so my sister threw me a rockin' baby shower, it was a blast! we have nearly everything ready for our little jade. i got a baby sling, we'll see how that works out. it seems really convenient and easy to use, i only hope i don't seem to hippieish using it. it does seem like the new thing though.
ok, well folks, i hope next time i post we'll have had our baby.

We are back Utah!!!

Hello! Long time no post! So Dan and I are officially back in Utah. It's good to be here to have some friends to hang out with. Well, my belly keeps growing and baby Jade hasn't dropped yet so she's still giving me a few kicks in the ribs. Dan likes his new job a lot better than the one in Minnesota, which is always a good thing.

Happy 4th of July!

Hope everyone had an awesome time on the 4th. Dan and I chose to celebrate by going to see Transformers (which was pretty awesome by the way), and then we hung out and tried to perfect our guitar skills will our new game Guitar Hero. It's really fun, and sort of tricky. Dan of course rocks a little better than me but we'll just see how long that lasts.

Last night we went to something called The Taste of Minnesota. It was sort of like a carnival, they had some rides and a band and of course the delicious carnival food. Hello funnel cakes!

I thought I would post another picture of my pregnant belly. This is me at 30 weeks, only 10 more to go!! I'm getting pretty excited! Ok, really excited!

p.s. random stuff, I'm watching Jay Leno right now and there is a 90 year old lady on and she's from Provo, she's totally dancing up a storm, kicking her legs up higher than her head, it's nuts. Wow! And the splits for a finale!

Another typical night at home

Well folks, it's just another night at home, Dan's on the computer playing world of warcraft with Dan Hart and another friend (named Brian) and i'm watching last comic standing while surfing the web :) all the while waiting for the pizza boy. (When is he gonna get here already?)

So, here's a pic of the hospital where I will be delivering baby Jade. Everything is going well; she and I are both getting bigger.

The weather here has been pretty hot, and definately humid. It's not too bad though, it's just hard to breath when you go outside. The one thing I like about this area is that they have a Carter's store nearby (it's for baby clothes). Talk about deals.

p.s. the pizza was delicious. yum.

Baby Bump and Golf

Well friends, just thought that everyone would like to see my growing belly. Everything is going well, it seems that anything and everything makes me tired though. Just walking around Target can be a chore, (and those of you that know me know that I usually never tire of Target).

Also, Dan got a set of new golf clubs today!! He's hoping to get really good. We'll have to let you know how that goes. :)

Well, my belly keeps growing. I guess that's how pregnancy goes. We just got back from AZ, visiting my pops. It was a good time, we got to go swimming and have delicious food. Also, we went to see Pirates of the Caribbean. It was really good, um, kind of long, but good. So is anyone else so disappointed that Knocked Up is rated R?

Well, I'm off to make some muddy buddies for dinner (i know, so nutritious).

I'm on nights again this weekend, friday 7pm till tuesday 7am. Enough said.

I interviewed for nurse anesthesia at St. Mary's on wednesday this week and I think it went really well. On the otherhand, it could have gone horribly and I wouldn't necissarily know any better!!! Darn my winning personality and good looks!!! They only work for the short term, and then after more careful consideration they see through my shiney white teeth and dull cow eyes to the inadequate academic performance and lack luster work experience!!!! Oh cruel world!

My Uncle Lynn happens to precept with the program and gave the interviewer a call "for other business discussions" and I was brought up! He said the interviewer said the interview went well and what my uncle's view of the situation was. He said "Well, I have a very biased opinion, but you'd be silly not to take him on as a student". So that's nice :)

Baby Jade

So...We're having a baby girl!!! We went to the doc on Friday and got to have an ultrasound. We were both so relieved to see that everything seems to be on track. She has gotten so much bigger since our last ultrasound, and my belly is finally starting to pop out a bit. I'll try to post a picture soon.

These are some pictures from my trip to costa rica. I went to pick up my bro from his mission. It was really neat, very beautiful. We also saw some monkeys and sloths.

So, if you don't already know, we live in Minnesota now! It's pretty cool here, the weather has been really nice, not too hot, some nice rain once in a while. Dan got a new job at one of the hospitals here and he's making quite a bit more so we couldn't really pass it up. Also, this is where he's hoping to get into school. He actually has an interview for school the week after next so..........hopefully he'll do well and we'll know if he's accepted.

so the other night, well friday precisely, we went to the orem park up provo canyon and had an awesome dinner with brian and melissa and brian and lindsay and coleson, (oh, i can't forget roslyn was there too). we cooked some delicious tin foil dinners and hotdogs and biscuits, oh it was so fun. even though there was no fire pit that didn't stop us, we cracked some cement but oh well.

other than that, not much is new. i'm going to costa rica in april to pick up my bro from his mission, i've got my tickets and everything! i can't wait!

trying to keep in touch

well friends, another overdue post. not much going on. we've been working hard and trying to relax when we get a chance. we had such an awesome time in vegas visiting dave, jen and gavin. he's so darn smart!
dan and i keep waiting to find a new job where danny can make some extra money that we can hopefully put away for nurse anesthetist school. so far we haven't been able to find any awesome jobs, we looked in vegas so we could be closer to our buddies but nothing ever came of it. we're now trying to find a job in minneapolis, minnesota, that's where dan is hoping to go to school so if we can get a job and kind of get settled before school starts that would be good.
ok, i'm going to try to post some pics from hong kong, hope it works. ok, it's looks like a no go, we'll try again later i guess. adios amigos.

not a lot new, we went to idaho this weekend and got to see dan's mom and other family. we stayed with his cousins in exciting rexburg! we got to see dave and jen and gavin, so that was awesome. we had delicious rolls at texas roadhouse and if you've never had them then you need to go. they just opened one in sandy and i haven't been to that one but it's worth trying if they have the rolls, they come with cinnamon honey butter and it's delish. well, you know, we're just up the the same old stuff. work all day and come home and choose to watch tv over washing the dishes. life's too short for dishes. well........that's pretty much our lives. talk to you later.
